Understanding the difference Between Christianity and Islam

John 3:16Amplified Bible (AMP)

16 “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His[One and] [a]only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Shalom and Good Morning:

Something I wanted share that has come up in converstaion many times and cannot be refuted in any sense. This is important to understand too. This is going to be a very short blog However I will give you the single Main difference between Christianity and Islam.

It is a very important thing to know. Especially in the light of many different religious understandings and doctrines that are circling the world and the Internet.

First , as a believer in Christ, it is impartive to understand that our belief in Christ is this: is that we believe in the Fullment of the Old testament scriptures. They state in the coming of the Messiah which means the Holy and or Annointed One of Israel. The Greek translates this to which we know today as the "Christ."

So as a believer in Christ we understand our belief is brought forth by Gods Chosen people  the Jewish People. So when we say we are Christian's were are  saying we are Christ Like. For me as a Jewish believer in Christ , I'm often been called Jews for Jesus or a messianic believer, which are all good terms for me, However, I like to call it a completed Jew or Jew who believes in the fulfillment of the scriptures.

Now to understand the next , Islam has one basic difference that is undisputed between the Doctrine of the Holy Bible ( Torah/Tanakh and the New Testament scriptures). Please understand , I am writing this blog not to bash or put down Islam only to clarify the difference and a basic fundamental element that its whole premise stands on. There are many differences between the Bible and Quran but there is one basic Fundamental understanding that is undisputed. For me it puts all the other doctrines into place so the cart is not before the horse. So the Horse is pulling the cart.

Before I get to that one basic fundamental understanding , Im telling this to you because , there are many arguments and religions especially like Islam that take on many likenesses of Christianity and call them peaceful and the true understanding and the truth. However one must do there own study and yes it has to be more then just a simple Google search to study and understand these things. Also as a follower of Christ You also must study and pray and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you.

Islam is teaching that Jesus is apart of their doctrine in the Quran. That is true There are stories and teaching in the Quran that are not in the bible about Jesus that have been often talked about for many years of the Character of Christ, However they don't teach and don't believe in Jesus as being the Christ our redeemer. That is not the point to this, the point is Islam is growing at great numbers today and if you  were to  talk to many people who are practicing Islam , especially the ones who may have converted from Christianity to Islam , you will here them tell you that there are many similarities. This is true too. The one true difference between Islam and Christianity is Choice. In Christianity you have choice to believe in God the Father and Jesus Christ ,The son and redeemer and the Holy Spirit. If you choose to believe in this , thats great. If you choose to not believe in this were are charged to still love and pray for you and hope that you will come to the knowledge of salvation before your soul is required for accountability to a Holy and just Father God YHVH.

Islam doesn't teach this. Islam is a forced religion. Islam teaches that it must be forced upon you and to repentance or be forced to either death, serveritutde and or paying some type tax and or penalty.

This is the main focus and understanding to the difference of Christianity and Islam. Its foundations of both show which is truly peaceful and which is truly not.

I would suggest everyone who questions this simple fact do their own personal study before you make any conclusions. Please also know that as Christians, the scriptures states For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, ( meaning the individual person) but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ( the spirit behind the person and contoling them or being allowed to control them)

Many people who practice Islam, I have encountered, are searching for the same thing as you and I . They are searching for truth and life and a way. (sound like scripture in John 14). Many of them are more faithful and willing more then Christians that I have met. So it is very important for us as believers in Christ to seek Christ in love when it comes to this subject as all subjects. Making an emphasis on this one. Amen!

Shalom

Desires of the Flesh vs Holy Spirit ( War within )

Galatians 5:17-21Amplified Bible (AMP)

17 For the sinful nature has its desire which is opposed to the Spirit, and the [desire of the] Spirit opposes the [a]sinful nature; for these [two, the sinful nature and the Spirit] are in direct opposition to each other [continually in conflict], so that you [as believers] do not [always] do whatever [good things] you want to do. 18 But if you are guided and led by the Spirit, you are not subject to the Law. 19 Now the practices of the [b]sinful nature are clearly evident: they are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality (total irresponsibility, lack of self-control), 20 [c]idolatry, [d]sorcery, hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions [that promote heresies], 21 envy, drunkenness, riotous behavior, and other things like these. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:22-23Amplified Bible (AMP)

22 But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is . Against such things there is no law.

Shalom and Good Morning:

I wanted to write this blog for some time because it is something that is very important to our daily walk In YHVH (יְהוָה) ( God the Father) Through our walk in Yeshua HaMosiach ( ישוע המשיח = Jesus Christ =God's Salvation = God's Anointed One / Holy One of Israel) and the Ruach Hakodesh (רוח הקודש= Holy Spirit).

Sometime ago, I went through a very bitter and ugly divorce. I remember how upset and angry  I was . I recall the emotions I went through and not understanding how to handle each emotion as they would come. I also recall how it affected me , my children and everyone around me. It was a very rough time to navigate a daily walk as a Father , son, brother, employee, and friend.

Fortunately as much hurt, pain, anger, betterness etc. the list could go on, I started to read the bible and get back to basics. I realized many things , however , I want to point out the very basic understanding that YHVH has outlined for us to live. There is a  list in Galations chapter 5 that is outlined, in there  , for this very reson and how to live and navigate through the muck and the mire of the sinful nature of this world.

I actually printed this scripture out and taped it to my mirror in the bathroom so I can be reminded of what is of the flesh and what is of the spirit.

The great and interesting thing to this, we are  charged as believers by Jesus himself to test each spirit by the spirit to see from which it comes. To know if we are living a Godly life or tempted by the desires of this world for which WILL NOT INHERENT THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN!

The scirpture is posted above but here is the list again that will not get us into heaven and the kingdom of God . It is  from the father of lies, Satan himself . He is a destroyer of our souls:

  • sexual immorality- (any sex outside of a marriage between a man and a women)
  • impurity
  • sensuality (total irresponsibility, lack of self-control)
  • idolatry
  • sorcery
  • hostility
  •  strife
  • jealousy
  •  fits of anger
  • disputes
  • dissensions
  • factions [that promote heresies]
  •  envy
  •  drunkenness
  • riotous behavior
  •  and other things like these
This is a very hard and strong list.  It is very easy to fall into one of this things . Are you Having sex outside of Marriage ? The Biblical understanding of Marriage is between and Man and a woman.

Are you in a relationship but not having sexual intercourse but doing many other things that  is either very similar to sex  but pleases each other sexual desire, however, is not the actual act of sex ? Is it  sexual?

Do you game all the time? Are you on the Facebook etc all the time, Trolling social media and internet? Do you look at Pornography? Do you read magazines ,books, look at media , videos that set pornagraphic images in your mind?

Do you talk with with pornagraphic words? Is your speach full of vulgararities?

Do you treat certain people differently then others? Do you talk about them behind there backs? Do you cause problems or arguments? Are you hard to get along with?Do you joke in a mean way? Are you always sarcastic? Do you talk and not listen? Is communication one way only?

Do you manipulate people and situations to get what you want? Do you want something that you don't have or dosen't belong to you? Are you hard and cold? Have you caused people hurt even if you intended not too?

Do you drink alcohol just to drink alcohol to get buzzed or drunk? Do you have sometype of alcohol drink in your hand when your out just to show social acceptability?Do you  smoke cigarettes? Do you Get High? Do you go to clubs to dance and to be somewhat sexual ? Rub up on other people?

Do you over eat? Over indulge?

Do you go out just to get into fights? Do you go out to look for for a one night stand? Do you cause problems between people?

Please understand this list can go on and on. The constant understanding to this list and its theme is " Self." What are you doing to gratify yourself? Do you put self in front of all things to fulfill its wants and desires? If so , sit  back and look at this list of self, you will see and find that the self satisfaction will be contuous and continue to grow for more and more. So much more that your desires and wants can become unrestrained. Thinking that there is nothing you can't do, when truly there limits to everything in life.

I recall when in my heart I said to God there is nothing I can't do or have. I felt like there were no limits. I was very arrogant. I wouldn't listen to my children and there requests. The were always upset with me. This was very hurtful to them.

God is about love, and his Love is translated through very strict dicipline. It is His discipline and his limits that pours out into eternal  realms.

It is written here in Galations Chapter 5 how to be disciplined in a Holy and Pure way before YHVH:
  • love [unselfish concern for others]
  •  joy [inner] peace
  •  patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting]
  •  kindness
  • goodness
  •  faithfulness
  •  gentleness
  •  self-control
The word of God states there is no limits to these things. This list is small becuase it doesn't need much  to show what pleases God. However it comes with discipline.

Like an athelete training for his contest or event.

Or dancer who wants to perfect their moves before their audiance and their partner.

Maybe you hold a office or position in your Job that is very important and many temptions to look the other way or be biased to one group and the not the other. It takes discipline to be consistant in your position you hold. It takes discipline to report to work on those days you just don't want to work.

I personally like lifting weights and exercising. It takes discipline for me to get up everyday to be consistant and going to the gym. If  I skip too many days , I will feel the effects of it . It causes me to lose the foward momentum and start over.

This is what the writer is saying and showing us that every moment in our life is disciplined not for us but for our father in Heaven. It is a moment to moment walk. In return he rewards us openly with things that are only from Him . Its beyond our understanding. His peace will be revealed in us and through us. Amen! Shalom and have great day!

You Don't know my struggle!

Galatians 5:17Amplified Bible (AMP)

17 For the sinful nature has its desire which is opposed to the Spirit, and the [desire of the] Spirit opposes the [a]sinful nature; for these [two, the sinful nature and the Spirit] are in direct opposition to each other [continually in conflict], so that you [as believers] do not [always] do whatever [good things] you want to do.

Good Morning and Shalom:

Have you ever heard someone say these words " you don't know my struggle?" Have you ever said them?

Do you know what the difference is between being a victim and to victimize somone else?

Interesting enough, I have had to learn, in my walk of life, as Christ Like, to understand this very concept. Its a very important concept to know, to understand your walk in Christ. How the spiritual realm really works. Its very simple but extremely effective either in the light of God our father through redemption of Jesus Christ or through the darkness of the enemy of your soul  HaSatan ( Satan) the destroyer.

In very simple terms, we all have sometype of struggles. Through no fault of your own , you were brought into this world through some kind of condition that has some type of obstacle. Some type of difficulty. You fallen victim to this prey that has you at a disadvantage.

Some how, this thing that has caused this struggle has victimized you. However, in some way you knew  to be able to defeat this struggle you needed overcome it. Whatever it is , you no longer have succomed to it. Your a winner . You learned someway to beat it through all the odds.

Now since you overcame this "thing" that had you as a victim and struggling, you realized there are others who also struggle too, like you have. You have also realized there are many who who were not like you and never having to struggle the way you have and will never fall victim to it becuase they are not like you. Maybe they are priviledged or entitled. Maybe they  are the very reason you were in the struggle in the first place.

Now in your walk, since you understand the one thing that has caused you this struggle, and victimized you , you now take a new stance and outlook on life. You are not going to allow yourself to fall prey to this thing ever again. In doing so , you now become a person who is hard to deal with. Somone who is very difficult to be around. Somone who doesn't make life easy. Someone who has said they will never let someone take advantage of them again. Instead you have taken full effect and force of many of life opportunities, regardless of how they have been presented to you. You have now become a person who is doing some of the very same things that were once done to you but to others. Maybe those others are the very same type of people who victimized you. It doesnt matter to you because once you were the vicitim but now you will never be the vicitm  again . It has become ok to treat those very same people the way you were treated, in turn now becoming the victimizer.

Does this sound familiar?

Have you ever been cheated on in a marriage? Have you in turn cheated after being cheated on?

Have you ever been raped? Do you hate men? Do you take all your frustrations and life harships out on people now? Is everyone now your enemy?

Have you grown up poor and impoverished? Does that mean that everyone who is living a wealthy lifstyle doesn't know what that means?

Are you hated because your Jewish or black ? Do you lash out at other people because they are not your color or religious affiliation?

Do you allow these things to mistreat other people? That is the question!!!!

Because if you do, I would suggest you take a good hard look inside and your walk in Christ and see if meets the Galatians chapter 5 list of what will and will not inherent the Kingdom Of God and Heaven.

Are you stubborn?

Are you hard ?

Do you cause dissention and discord?

How about quarrels ?

I very much assure you my friend, for which Paul the apostle, talks about very candidly and the writer of Galations chapter 5, these things and their likeness will NOT make it into GODS Kingdom and Hevean.

Spiritual warfare is the thing most Christians do not understand. It is important to know for which by what spirit comes to you. Is it Holy and pure or is it unclean and causes problem? We  are told to test the spirit by the spirit. A good tree cannot bare bad fruit and likewise a bad tree cannot bare good fruit.

What type of fruit are you producing?

As Christian , to be Christ like, we are to know and understand the difference. Although we as Christians are not to be punching bags for someone else , were are charged to be humble and our strength is drawn from the Christ's humility. This is not an easy thing , however , it is where our strength comes from.

We are to allow people to make their choices. We cannot force anything upon anyone. We step out of the way and allow God to open up the doors that were not able to open in our own strength  through surrender, prayer, fasting and repenting. Allowing the Holy Spirit to teach you. Allowing the Holy spirit to use you to show others how to navigate this walk of life with its struggles in shalom that only God gives..

That's the difference and the real victory of Christ. To not repeat the sin, or causing one to sin. To overcome as Christ has through his grace and mercy which is undeserved. To show others to not to continue in the same sin that has once been done to you. To stop the cycle of it . That is real victory. It stops you from being a victim and to victimize someone else. In turn it will  teach you  to the love and mercy of GOD.

Sin loves company. Have you ever heard the saying misery loves company? So does sin. It wants to do nothing but continue on a cycle of destruction. Whereas the things of God ,for which is Holy and pure, want nothing more but to free you from the bondage of this sin and destruction.

Something to think about!

Shalom and amen!

Your Brother In Christ
Jay
