Shalom and good morning;
As Passover comes to the end this week, this is a time of celebration and full of meaning of who God is and what does it mean in our lives.
All I am able to do is reflect on this story and understand how it is true for me today. God rescues, He is Faithful, He is mighty and He is a Jealous. It is not our Job to understand why these things are true about Him , It is only our Job to understand to simply know that they are true and to stay in Him.
In times of trouble of great and small, where the odds are too great for us individually or even collectively, we are to be hidden in God (YHVH) , where the impossible for us , is no longer impossible for Him.
That is the whole story of the passover and its meaning. Israel, being YHVH chosen people, were to stay in obedience to Him and as long as they did , God delivered them out of Egypt.
Exodus chapter 14:13-14
Moses answered the people , Do not be afraid, stand firm and you will see the deliverance the lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today, you will never see again. The Lord (YHVH) will fight for you and need only to be still.
The Lord takes a very High road when it comes to His people that wait on HIM. Are you waiting on Him? Do you trust HIM?
It doesn't matter what walk of life you have come from. It doesn't matter what things you have done in your past. The Lord only cares in what you are doing now in Him. YHVH is the God of the Bible , He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is the God of Israel. He is the one and only true God and He wants YOU, to trust and rely on Him.
If you do trust and rely on Him , you become His people! The story continues...
Exodus 14; 24-25
During the last watch of the night , The Lord (YHVH) looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion. He made the wheels of their Chariots come off so they had difficulty driving. The Egyptians said " Let us get away from the Israelites ! The Lord (YHVH) is fighting for them against Egypt."
This part of the scripture is so wealthy of meaning for us . The last watch, being the very early hours of the morning, at a time when most people are at their best sleep, YHVH is working for you, against your enemies. The last watch is when Jesus prayed the most.
The Egyptians represent today, sin, bondage and the world system. In a society today that is growing very rapidly and spreading like a wildfire of immorality and sin. The pressures of this sinful and immorality is being pushed greatly down our throats, to be accepted and not only accepted, but followed. Rules are being changed, hatred towards YHVH is spreading rapidly because the Bible clearly sets standards of Godly, moral behavior and what is not Godly, moral behavior.
Todays society is wanting to redefine, in its own way and its own understanding, what is love and what is morality; what they say is ok and what is not ok. Thats why it was very important in the story of Passover, for the Israelites, to behave a certain way; to be still and know God will fight the battle.
As a jewish boy growing up, I never really understood why my family was different from the rest of people around me. They seemed like they had all the fun and less rules. Why we had to go to Temple and fast when everyone was eating and out and about.
Now as a Jewish believer in Yeshua HaMoshiach (Jesus Christ the Messiah), it has become very clear. When we come into Gods salvation and atonement of sin, we are to understand that all of these things in fasting and being still before God (YHVH) are what is required to see and hear those things of God(YHVH) and what He wants for us and through us.
We are to be set apart from the rest of the world and its system. We to fear and revere God(YHVH), so we don't have to understand anything other then He loves us and takes care of His own. That is what sets us apart from the rest of the world , while in their confusion and mess , will recognize that the Lord God of Israel ( YHVH), is fighting for you and will flee. You can take that to the bank!
In my walk of life, I have talked to many people who believe so many things other then the bible, and the true God of Israel, Ive learned this one thing. They all have been captivated by the things of God. Why do I say this? I am able to say this because they all reason and believe, that they can create or put together their own stories, to form their own justifications to their actions, and stand on those principals that are similar in fashion of those things of the bible and God, but turn it out into what they believe. So when they hear the truth of the bible and of GOD(YHVH), it captivates them or should I say their soul hears it, knows its truth , and wants to return to its maker.
Let the Lord Fight for you! Seek Him while He is able to be found! Yeshua Hamoshiach (Jesus) said in Mathew chapter 7 vs 7-8 " Ask and it will be given to you; Seek and you will find; Knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, will receive; He who seeks , will find; and to him who knocks , the door will be opened."
The celebration of passover is a reminder to everyone who seeks YHVH, God is alive today as He has ever been. He fights for you and distinguishes you to be His own people. Amen!
